Hitlers Blindness...................?

I was watching a doentary that said Hitler was blinded during ww1 after being he was hit with a gas bomb but it wasn't the gas that blinded him but the traumatic event of the gas attack after a few weeks Hitler managed to gain his sight back but when news reached him that Germany had lost the war his blindness returned. the doctor told Hitler that he had a purpose and soon after Hitler regained his sight. Now to my question once Hitler came to the realization that Germany was going to lose the second world war could his blindness have returned so at the time that Hitler committed suicide could he have been a blind man
