New Yorkers please answer!?

Hi, I found out that my friend is moving with her family back to Puerto Rico. She was my only friend that I have for two years and now I'm trying to find ways to make new friends again. But I don't know any good places in New York to meet new people. So I was wondering if any New Yorkers that is reading this may know a good place to meet new people. If you could, can you name the place and where it is located in New York? I hope your anwers can help me. Thanks.
