Is nursing a good major?

For all the RN's out there, is it a good job? I've been interested in becoming an RN since beginning of high school. Which is better to do, get an ociates first then get a bachelors? Or go straight to a 4 year university and get my bachelors? I'm in a community college right now and taking nursing pre-requisites but I'm unsure if I should get my ociates first or just wait till I transfer to a university and then get my bachelors. I know BSN's make more than ADN's. But do BSNs have more work than ADN's? Is it harder? How much is the pay difference between ADN's & BSN's? I live in San Fran, if it matters.
