Are any of you bringing up babies in a 2 language home?

I really dont see any need for you to be worried about this. There is a technique called the OPOL technique, (One Parent One Language) one parent speaks their language to the child and the other parent speaks their language to the child. She will pick both languages up very fast, and its very effective. Im American and speak English, and my Husband is from Syria, and speaks Arabic. I want very much for my Son to be fluent in both languages so what we have been doing since he was born is speaking to him in what our native language is. This technique will work, you should give it a try. Children are like sponges at this age and anything you teach them no matter in what language they will pick up. So be patient and give her time to recognize the different languages, she is only 16 months.
