Is The "You Deserve It" Mentality Healthy?

Why is there such a problem with people defaulting on their home mortgages? People want things they can't afford. Seems self-gratification is what it is all about. I will be very upset if the government bails out people that over bought with my tax dollars while I live in a smaller house that I can afford. I can remember my parents saving up to buy a luxury item like a washer or dryer. Now everyone thinks they deserve it all and expect it all and right away. My sister spends every dime she makes and then keeps charging her credit cards to the max. She pays a tremendous amount of interest on each card and gets further into debt. It's like our government. They borrow more than they can pay back; they owe huge debts; our creditors are losing faith in our ability to pay; the dollar is starting to devalue, we will lose it all when the government starts to default on loans. And yet, we are paying other countries huge amounts of money to "think" our way, fight wars and run governments that won't help themselves, and still people are voting for "free" medicine. It all has to be paid for! We need to run our country like a business and get out of the red. The USA just can't do it all and yet we all go on like it can last forever. . .
